ALDI Australia is supporting communities who have been impacted by Ex-Tropical Cyclone Alfred by donating up to $150,000 worth of food and essential items to its national food charity partner, Foodbank.
The supermarket is also accepting customer donations of $2 or more towards Foodbank’s appeal, which can be made at cash registers in ALDI stores nationwide from 11 March until the end of the month.
Funds raised by ALDI shoppers in-store will be matched by ALDI (up to $100,000) and will go towards supporting Australians that need it most following the recent weather events in Queensland and Northern New South Wales.
The move forms part of ALDI’s community support programs and the commitment to helping reduce food insecurity by giving surplus food from its stores and distribution centres to Australians struggling to feed their families in their local communities.
